What Makes Our Ice Cream Different

Our ice cream is crafted with a unique blend of science and passion.

Using her cheese-making expertise, Laura created a special ice cream mix utilizing buttermilk.

Free from common fillers like soy or agar agar, this approach stabilizes the ice cream naturally, and the high fat content of the buttermilk allows us to avoid the high cooking temperatures that break down proteins and compromise taste, flavor, and digestibility.

Add in high quality ingredients, including real bourbon vanilla extract and fresh fruit and you get a delicious ice cream with an incomparable creamy, rich texture.

Brought some out-of-town guests and we all loved the ice cream! Smoothest, creamiest, tastiest ice cream ever! Loved the back room where we sat and enjoyed our ice cream. The girls serving us were so sweet! Brought home some pastries to enjoy too!

Excellent homemade ice cream and other desserts, lots of coffee selections…. something for everyone. They even had a vegan vanilla ice cream with the best flavor and consistency I’ve ever tasted. But best of all, they treat customers with respect and courtesy. Fast, friendly, fabulous flavors!

I first found Southern Creamery on my way to Asheville back in ‘22. I stopped in just the other day for an infamous, banana pudding milkshake! To my surprise, they have added a full breakfast and lunch menu, as well as changed some of the ice cream to sugar-free, which I love! Even sugar free, banana pudding still tastes just like a fresh slap of your grandma’s banana pudding!
